Amazon and Apple will continue advertising their products on Twitter after Twitter on Friday (2/12/2022) then sent an email to advertising agencies offering advertisers incentives to spur their spending on their platform.
A Platformer News reporter on Saturday (3/12/2022) said Amazon will continue advertising on Twitter with a value of $100 million per year in advertising spending, pending some security changes to the company’s advertising platform.
However, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters that Amazon has never stopped advertising on Twitter.
On the other hand, Elon Musk once called Apple the biggest advertiser on Twitter and had “completely resumed” advertising on the platform.
Several companies, from General Mills to luxury car maker Audi, decided to suspend their advertising on Twitter after Musk acquired the platform last October.
Elon Musk Changes the Face of Twitter
Under the leadership of Elon Musk, Twitter slowly began to make many changes. Starting from the termination of employment (PHK) for most employees and staff to relaxing content policies.
Elon Musk has also reactivated several previously suspended accounts, including that of former US President Donald Trump.
He also said that the platform would provide a “general amnesty” for some suspended accounts.
As is known, Musk has long been a supporter of absolute freedom of speech and rejects Twitter-style content moderation.
